Privacy Policy

CarbonAI has a very simple privacy policy. We share data with Google Tag Manager for analytics purposes, and we use first-party cookies to allow us to know when you're logged in.

Google Tag Manager

Tag Manager from Google (GTM) is a tool we, and a lot of other websites, use to get information about our visitors habits on the site. GTM in itself just acts as a container for the data, and then passes it onto Google Analytics (GA), which is what gives us the information we're looking for.

The information GA collects doesn't identify you as a person, it doesn't tell us who you are. Everything in GA and GTM is anonymised. As an example, it may tell us that 1,000 people visited the 'About' page yesterday, and 60% of those people were on a smartphone. It doesn't tell us who visited, or gives us any kind of personally identifable info.

We use this information to work out what pages are the most popular, the least popular, and where people might be entering and leaving the site. All of this is used to try and make a better experience for you.

First-Party Cookies

The website uses cookies to operate. The cookie is used when you log in, and allows us to identify that you've logged in, so you don't need to log in again from page to page. First-party (meaning it's set by us, not some third-party loaded on the site) cookies can be used for lots of things, but we only use it to track your login state to stop you needing to log in multiple times per session, or between multiple sessions.

This use-case is very common, and pretty much any website you log into will do this exact thing.
